Aaaaaaaaaah, Bats!

Just a quick link post. Check out the slew of really cool Batman Begins movie posters at actuacine.net. I can’t even pick my favourite. I think the one where he’s carrying the chick is my least favourite, but that doesn’t mean I think its bad or anything. I like the black and white one, but I think my favourite is still this one:

From The Sets

Got a couple of pictures from the Supes and Ghost Rider movies, courtesy of The Beat. Head over there if you want a larger version of the Superman picture.
Routh in costume
Can’t say I’m a big fan of the costume. They haven’t changed much but whats with the dirty-maroon instead of bright red cape, boots and shorts? The costume Chris Reeves wore in the last set of movies still has my vote for “Best Superman Costume in a Movie or TV Series”. I guess its a tough costume to fill out and not look ridiculous in… Although, Routh seams to be making a pretty good effort at filling out that costume well :D .

Not much to say bout the Ghost Rider look. He’d about the only hero that I could ever see Cage playing and it looks like about what I’d have expected. See for yourselves.

Batman #638

This is really more of an update to my previous post about issues #635-637. The Pulse reports that issue #638 of Batman, the final issue in the “Under the Hood” story arc, sold out at DC Comics the day it arrived in stores. Glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed it. And since the article quotes Winnick saying “I would be lying if I didn’t admit that this just is the first dip on this roller coaster. We’re just getting started!” I’m hoping this means that he will stick around Batman a bit longer and isn’t just passing the Red Hood character on to another writer while he moves on to other things.

Dream Police

Those of you who’ve known me for a while, know that when it comes to comic reading, my tastes run strictly towards the classic superhero style. It takes something special to get me to spend my hard earned money on anything other than Batman, Spidey and the occasional X-men title. I have just run across something at the Pulse that may make me take one of those rare jaunts outside the classic superhero genre. I’m talking about Dream Police, an upcoming Marvel title by a writer/artist pair that I consider the Dynamic Duo of Marvel; J. Michael Straczynski, the guy that revived Amazing Spider-Man and got me to rediscover my love for the Wall-Crawler, and Mike Deodato Jr., one of my all-time favourite artists and current Amazing Spidey artist.

A book about a couple of “cops” that make sure the people/creatures in our dreams do their jobs right? Sounds interesting, and cheezy and like it could get oh, so very messy. But as well all know, JMS is pretty good at keeping a handle on things with a high “potential mess factor” (Babylon 5 anyone?), so this title may be worth a look at when it comes out.

In related news, the Pulse also has an article about some new Babylon 5 novels and comics that Mongoose Publishing will be releasing over the next few months.

When I’m Bored…

We had a discussion group at work today and I got kinda bored so I started writing stuff down on my note pad and these are what I came up with. Make what you will of them, I don’t know what they mean, all I did was write them down.

Dark night,
Storm sky,
High fly,
Last sigh.

and

Turn the page
to a new day,
start a fire
and find a way.

I kinda like the first one.
