Yes, YOU. All YOU FREAKING LIARS that I consider friends and family, who lied to me about how good Episode 3 is. LIED I tell you! “You’ll want to see it again and again”. “It’s as good as Episodes 4, 5 and 6″. BAH! It’s a good thing I took everything you said with a pinch of salt.

Well, I wasn’t tagged by k@os but I did The Book Challenge and this one’s easier so I thought I’d do it too. Maybe I’ll even add a comic challenge and a music challenge (if I ever find or get over the loss of American Idiot) at some point.

D&D-day is over. I know I promised to make this post on Wednesday, but it’s taken me a day and a half just to write up. As it turns out the DM wasn’t exaggerating too much. 3 party members got killed Tuesday night, including Lynt (she wouldn’t have died if the damn rogue hadn’t run away, cowardly rogue). And I wasn’t wrong about my lack of emotion over her death either. I couldn’t even muster up any disappointment when she died. By that point I’d done all the stuff that I had planned out for her and her effect on the party was everything I’d hoped it would be. So she’d done her job and I could let her go in peace… It looks like apathy had me in a choke-hold that night… But her journey to join Mr. Skullnbones in the afterlife was to be an aborted one. The rest of the party got the 3 dead members resurrected. More on the events that transpired later. You should hear it in Lynt’s own words. Due to her inability to read or write, I will transcribe the tale for her.

Or maybe that should be D&D-day. Tuesday is finally here, the day I’ve been feverishly awaiting (hey Look Jad, another word that I can stick “a” in front of ) for the last week or so; ever since I came up with all these funky ideas for my new character. Now for the second day in a row I find myself greeting the new morning with a touch of apprehension. I’m excited about finally getting to play little Lynt but I just hope I don’t let us both down by not playing her to her full potential. I have all these plans in my head about the things she’s going to do and say, but more often than not, when I have things like this all planned out and the time to execute my plans are at hand, my memory fails me and all the plans fly out the window, which leaves me floundering and spitting out bits of it in a jumbled mess. Here’s hoping that doesn’t happen today.

I was royally pissed off, amongst other things, with myself last Friday night.

Hiding in the light,
waiting for the night.
To finally be free,
free enough to feel.
In the shadows,
where nobody can see.
It brings me back to life,
the touch of winters night.
The cold has wrapped me tight.
The only touch I feel.
Sometimes its just too much,
and yet its never enough.

Well, heres a treat for all of you, a good one or a bad one I leave it up to you to decide. Its one of the very few pieces of fiction I’ve written that wasn’t aimed at getting me a grade at school or uni. Its a Highlander fanfic and was inspired by a challenge that required participants in said challenge to write a piece of fiction around the line “Whenever I feel the first fall of snow, I’m back there. Reliving it.” I don’t remember where I saw this challenge, but I somehow managed to use that line to combine one of my favourite fictional characters with one of my favourite historical figures, and this is the result. Hope you enjoy it, tell me if you do… or if you don’t. I’ve tried to make sure that all the historical facts are accurate, which may make the whole thing read like a history lesson, but I hope not a boring one at least. Read

Just a bit of a filler post today. Still haven’t caught up on my comic reading so I don’t have much to post on that topic. Thought I’d have a bit of a natter about role-playing instead. Haven’t posted anything on that in a while.

Thats pretty much the gist of this post;
I LOVE BOOKS!
Its not like this is a new-found revelation or anything. I’ve always been an avid reader. Anyone whos talked to me for any significant length of time could figure that out pretty easily. However, in the past 4 weeks or so I’ve discovered new depths to my love for books and respect for their authors. Books have proven to be some of the best friends I’ve had throughout my life, through both the good times and (especially) the bad. They have gotten me through a lot and will probably continue to do so in the future. So thats it. All I really have to say is
I LOVE BOOKS!
