On The Road

Now that I have a real car; one that likes being driven, knows what to do when you hit the accelerator and drives like a dream, I can see that all the idiots on the road that don’t know how to drive, don’t seam to know the road rules and display no courtesy to their fellow commuters are going to piss me off more then ever. They used to irritate me before, but since they didn’t really hold me back much more than the “car” I was driving held me back, it was more of a subjective issue than anything else. Now that I have a car that wants to GO as much as I do, these people are actually, physically inconveniencing me and they’re REALLY getting on my nerves.

Buying a Car

‘Twas a dark and stormy Wednesday,
when Rav`N and Jad went down Albany Highway,
to buy a Lancer, her new car,
and dispose of the narcoleptic Pyzar.

Friday The 13th

‘Tis the day that sends the overly superstitious scuttling into dark corners to curl up into a ball and await the days end. And those people that suffer from an irrational fear of Friday the 13th are called “paraskevidekatriaphobics ” or “friggatriskaidekaphobics”. I think they should be more afraid of the name they’ve been given.

To Jad and Ron, who also live at no. 13, good luck to you guys today ;)

Wheeeee…. eep!

This from CHUD.com:

“Wee Free Men is set up at Sony and is being conceived as a large scale live action film. The script is being written by Pamela Pettler, who wrote Tim Burton’s The Corpse Bride.”

Sounds good so far? Thats what I thought too. Finally, a movie based on one of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books. Considering the popularity of fantasy-based movies these days, I guess it was only a matter of time. Then I read that Sam Raimi will be directing. I hated the way he dumbed down Spidey (although I will admit that that might not have been entirely his fault). I guess if he manages to find a balance between the slapstick-style he employed on Xena and Herculese, and Pratchett’s somewhat more intelligent (but not necessarily any less silly) humour, it could turn out quite good. But my bias against Raimi make it hard for me to believe that this will happen. I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed and wait and see.

Raised By Wolves

“Worst of all, in that rare instance when you do come to retrieve your missing kid, we don’t get so much as a thank you. No, you just grab him and race back to “civilization” as fast as possible, so he can unlearn everything we taught him about marking his territory and stalking prey. No wonder wolves have been known occasionally to attack humans—you’re a bunch of ungrateful bastards.”
