Driving to mom’s the other day I saw a Corolla with not one, but TWO “baby on board” signs on display in it’s back windscreen. Now, this sign has never really made sense to me. What do these parents think? That there are people out there just driving around, looking for cars to run into, and this sign is going to make them choose not to run into said baby-taxi? “Hmmm, you know what I really, really feel like doing today? I just have to crash my car into sombody else’s. Oh, look, theres a car! Awww, carp. Its got a baby inside. Better not run into that one. I’ll run into the car next to it instead. That one doesn’t have a baby inside. I know because it doesn’t have a ‘baby on board’ sign on display.”

I’ve been meaning to update my version of wordpress for months now; version 2.2 is out and I’m still on 2.0. On Wednesday I sat down in front of my computer to figure out how to do this and get it done, but barely a minute into the process I came across my first stumbling block and I have yet to get over it. I know I have to back-up everything before I start switching over, especially since I’ve never done anything like this before and therefore I’m quite likely to make mistakes, but for the life of me I can’t work out how to download the database. *sigh* Lame, I know. This is what comes out of being lazy and letting someone else set up my blog for me. I can work html and do some basic content/layout editing and stuff, but anything more complicated than that has me completely lost. I’m gonna have to sit down and do some studying… lots of it I think. Who knows when the hell I’m going to find time to do that or how long its going to take me to understand and figure out any of it… Frustrating.

That is the sweet sound I heard when I walked into a BP fuel station today, to pay for my fuel. About a year or so ago BP introduced the Wild Bean Cafe into most of their fuel stations. They make pretty damn good coffee by anyone’s standards, but most importantly, by my standards. . So when the nice lady walked up to me with a cup of coffee in her hand and asked me that question, I gave her a you-must-be-crazy-for-even-asking look and practically snatched the cup of coffee out of her hand before she could change her mind… all with a friendly smile on my face of course. I walked out of BP with about AU$65 worth of 98 octane fuel (thats about 48 liters) and a yummy cup of coffee, and then I got into my 180 and drove it to work. Ah, what a nice morning; free delicious coffee and a drive in my 180. So, in honour of my free cup of coffee, here’s a rather silly Poetry Thursday poem.

Every now and then I surf through Blogexplosion so see if I can find some new blogs worth reading. Usually I end up feeling like I wasted my time, but on the rare occasion I do find a gem or two. Rainy Day Wonderings was one of those rare finds. We’ve become regular commenters on each others blogs, and now this fine lady thinks I have the power of schmooze.

…was great. Tonnes of modified cars were on display. I did take my camera and I was going to take pictures, but really I found the cars with the most spectacular modifications were just too wanky for me to want to photograph and post pictures of them. The cars I was really interested in were the ones modified for performance not the ones modified to be blinged-up pimp-mobiles. Lesson of the day? People that own modified BMWs are the wankiest of wankers (that’ll be my word of the day I think ).

Jad’s CRX has a licence plate that tells everybody he’s a boy one (8OY …). It wasn’t until Ozzybard pointed it out yesterday that we realised that my car anounces my gender to the world as well… It reads “chick” (.CIQ …).
